Eric and Ashley Woodworth
Both accepted Christ as young adults in the summer of 2007. They soon were baptized and discipled in their local church, taking every opportunity to serve. Every small faithful “yes” to serving the Lord slowly grew from cleaning to helping to teaching and eventually assisting Pastor Josh Bevan and his wife, Candace, in planting Lighthouse Baptist Church in Xenia, Ohio. Eric served on that staff from the summer of 2009 through December 2016. Both Eric and Ashley continued to grow and learn in ministry throughout their time in Xenia. During that time they also grew their family, being blessed with three awesome children: Joel, Owen, and Evelyn. Following the Holy Spirit’s prompting, the Woodworth’s surrendered to foreign missions and were approved as BBFI missionaries to Honduras in September 2016. In December 2018, they completed fundraising and moved to Costa Rica for one year of Spanish language training. After a short delay with COVID related travel restrictions, they moved to Tegucigalpa, Honduras in October 2020. Their desire is to organize new churches in the city of Tegucigalpa and disciple men and women in the Word of God.
Edgard and Yadani Barrera-García
For 13 years Edgard and Yadani have walked together not only as husband and wife, but also as partners in the Lord's work. During those years of service they helped in planting a church in their Honduran hometown, where they faithfully served for years, and welcomed their daughter Avril. In March of 2026, Edgard was ordained as a Pastor by a collection of both Honduran and American pastors. Today, they serve as missionaries at Ekklesia in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, focusing on the areas of children, worship, preaching, evangelism, and discipleship.
Their personal mission is simple yet challenging: to be the hands and feet of Jesus wherever He is needed, sharing His grace and love in a practical and faithful way. Knowing that we as Christians do not accomplish this task alone; it is the result of God's support and the support of a church that prays, loves, and sends.
